Tips on Travelling with Toddlers
Travelling with a toddler can be a daunting experience. Below I have outlined my top 5 tips on what to bring travelling with you.
No. 1 – Airplane Bag – With all the essentials – A new colouring book with crayons, Stickers, a bib depending on their age, little toys, snacks, IPad – download videos / Cartoons or you can use Sky kids app which can be used offline, headphones, change of clothes, their toy /teddy that brings them comfort. Jvc have great headphones that limit the volume so it protects their little ears.
No. 2 – Buggy – This can go on as carry-on luggage and you can bring it right up to the plane. This time when travelling I decided to rent a buggy because I had too much to carry on my own. This was really handy. I had a bugaboo buggy when my little girl was a baby. I wouldn’t advise travelling with a bugaboo or any expensive buggy in an airplane as they are thrown around and can get damaged. We have a Maclaren Techno XT Stroller for this purpose. It is easy to use and doesn’t take up much space in the car. It has a lie down option so your little one can have a nap easily and feel comfortable in it.
No.3 – Handbag essentials for yourself – Moisturiser, hand cream, water spray for your face, lip balm – I find Paw-Paw great. Power bank for charging your phone, ipad. head phones, ipod/music and I always bring a book, not that I ever get to read one lol! Dry hair shampoo. Portable speakers.
No. 4 – Handy push along case for toddlers we use the Trunki. They can sit on them and you can pull them along or they can pull them along themselves. When they get older they can use a Zinc Flyte Case Kids Scooter which has an integrated scooter for whizzing around the airport.
No. 5 – Sun screen – I always use factor UVB 50+ I find La Roche Posay the best. It has UVA and UVB protection. Always bring sunhats and sunglasses with UV protection for your kids and yourself.
