Spending my birthday in Cappadocia🎈an actual dream come true, a tick off the bucket list🌟💫I’ve been wanting to come here for years✨we were supposed to be here in May (long story😆) the weather was actually terrible then it was raining and we probably wouldn’t of been able to go up in the balloons! I did a combination of traditional and baby led weaning with both my babies 👶🏻 I found using ‘My Feeding Plate’ brilliant to help promote Cillian’s pincer grasp👌🏻
.
The pincer grasp is the coordination of the index finger and thumb to hold an item. This is an important milestone in fine motor development. It can development anywhere between 8 and 12 months. It means they can pick up smaller objects like pieces of food. To help promote this you can scatter the different food pictured above on our plate or high chair and let your little one feed themselves (with supervision) another food you can use is cheerios. It’s great to give them different variety of food and different textures too. Around the same time as your little one is developing their pincer grasp they will be learning to throw, so be prepared for lots of mess😆😂

⭐️CHOKING HAZARDS⭐️
When introducing solid foods to weaning babies, it's crucial to be aware of choking hazards. Some common choking hazards include:

Whole tomatoes, hard foods like sweets, nuts, popcorn. Also grapes and marshmallows.

Tomatoes and Grapes - These should be cut into smaller quartered pieces.
Marshmallows - these sticky foods can be difficult for babies to swallow or can get stuck in their wind pipe.
Popcorn - are hard for babies to swallow and can get stuck in their wind pipe.
Hard candies - should be avoided entirely.

I can’t believe Cillian is starting school tomorrow🥹I won’t lie I am very emotional 😭there was a time when I didn’t think we would be in this position, (I won’t go into it today) but I’m just so grateful he is. I honestly don’t know where the time has gone🙈I hope he’ll be ok😭and makes friends and it doesn’t take him long to settle in🥰 I know a lot of you are in the same boat 🚣‍♀️ as me with little ones starting school and Montessori.
